About me (MSP Studios)
I am a Racine Wisconsin based semi-pro photographer. I got my start in photography many years ago, long before digital, with film. I took mail courses, there was no internet on online back then, and in person instruction with professional photographers. Back then we learned to "get it right" in the camera because the only editing that was really available, unless you sent your work out, was dodging and burning as you made exposed the negative to make the print. Back then, and I still do, love and am inspired by the work of Ansel Adams so a majority of what I shot was in black and white. I shot film off an on until 2018 when I moved to digital format because film and developing chemicals were getting harder and more expensive to buy.

When I first started digital photography I found Meetup.com and joined a lot of photography groups. With the number of groups that I joined and the number of events that each had I was shooting two or three times a month. These were great because it gave me exposure to a wide variety or genres, group shoots, outdoors and indoors. With the availability of online material, I wonder what happened to mail courses, and working frequently with a variety of models I had the opportunity to practice composition, lighting, and editing,

In 2021 I started a side business doing head shots, and portraits for businesses and individuals. These were used for their websites, LinkedIn profiles, dating profiles, etc. I did not have a fixed studio but I did have a portable studio so I traveled to where the client was. I have a separate website for my business.

For my personal photography I shoot macro, portraits, fashion, cosplay, boudoir/lingerie, nude (art and implied), etc. I have a passion for bodyscape and body projection photography.

I like to have as much control as possible over what I do. I do all of my own editing using Adobe Lightroom CC and Adobe Photoshop. My personal photography has been published three times, twice in magazines and once in a book.

A couple of years ago I relocated from the Chicago Illinois area to Racine Wisconsin. I converted a room in my home into a small studio as well as my house that I do shoots in.
